The Last Selfie

MILA DA BIONIC AND BUDZ1LLA DA GREAT

On the days that I am just done, wilted, I remember that my identity is not in my ability to stay energized, or have the house all clean, get all my work done, or have the kiddos neatly dressed with bows in.  My identity, my worth and value, is in the One who sees me as perfect for all of eternity.

I'M THE APPLE OF HIS EYES.

This is a good reminder of our purpose

A few years ago a group of salesmen
went to a regional sales convention in Chicago . They had assured their wives that they would be home in plenty of time for Friday night's dinner. In their rush at the airport, with tickets and briefcases, one of these salesmen inadvertently kicked over a table which held a display of apples. Apples flew everywhere. Without stopping or looking back, they all managed to reach the plane in time for their nearly-missed boarding...

ALL BUT ONE!!! He paused, took a deep
breath, got in touch with his feelings and experienced a twinge of compassion for the girl whose apple stand had been
overturned.

He told his buddies to go on without him, waved good-bye, told one of them to call his wife when they arrived at their home destination and explain his taking a later flight. Then he returned to the terminal where the apples were all over the terminal floor.
He was glad he did.

The 16-year-old girl was totally blind! She was softly crying, tears running down her cheeks in frustration and, at the same time, helplessly groping for her spilled produce as the crowd swirled about her, no one stopping and no one to care about her plight.

The salesman knelt on the floor with her, gathered up the apples, put them back on the table and helped organize her display. As he did this, he noticed that many of them had become battered and bruised; these he set aside in another basket. When he had finished, he pulled out his wallet and said to the girl, "Here, please take this $40 for the damage we did. Are you okay?"

She nodded through her tears. He continued on with, "I hope we didn't spoil your day too badly." As the salesman started to walk away, the bewildered blind girl called out to him, "Mister....".

He paused and turned to look back into those blind eyes. She continued, "Are you Jesus?"

He stopped in mid-stride ... and he wondered. He gently went back and said, "No, I am nothing like Jesus - He is good, kind, caring, loving, and would never have bumped into your display in the first place."

The girl gently nodded: "I only asked
because I prayed for Jesus to help me gather the apples. He sent you to help me, so you are like Him - only He knows who will do His will. Thank you for hearing His call, Mister."

Then slowly he made his way to catch the later flight with that question burning and bouncing about in his soul: "Are you
Jesus?"

Do people mistake you for Jesus? That's our destiny, is it not? To be so much like Jesus that people cannot tell the difference as we live and interact with a world that is blind to
His love, life and grace.

If we claim to know Him, we should live, walk and act as He would. Knowing Him is more than simply quoting Scripture and going to church. It's actually living the Word as life unfolds day to day .

You are the apple of His eye even though you, too, have been bruised by a fall. He stopped what He was doing and picked you and me up on a hill called Calvary and paid in full for our damaged fruit.

Please share this, IF you feel led to do so.
Sometimes we just take things for granted, when we really need to be sharing what we know....Thanks.

"Being happy doesn't mean everything is perfect.
It means you've decided to see beyond the
imperfections."

SELF

ANGELITA CAME FROM A FILIPINO MILITARY DYNASTY.  Sometime in January 2010, "United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki Moon named a Filipino Major General Natalio C. Ecarma III as the new Force Commander for the UN peacekeeping operation in the Golan Heights, tasked with observing the ceasefire between Israel and Syria in the region."  He once commanded Philippine President Gloria Arroyo's guard batallion.  The 1050-Men UN Disengagement Observer Force (UNDOF) is composed of troops from Austria, Canada, Croatia, India, Japan and the Philippines.  Major Gen. Natalio C. Ecarma III replaced Gen. Wolfgang Jilke of Austria.

Ecarma, 55, comes from a Military family.  His fraternal Grandfather and namesake, the late Colonel Natalio R. Ecarma Sr, was one of nine graduates in 1924 of the Philippine Constabulary Academy, now Philippine Military Academy (PMA).  Ecarma III belongs to PMA Class '81.

An uncle, the oldest son of Natalio Sr., Philippine Air Force Lt. Natalio A. Ecarma Jr. was killed in action on a staffing mission against Philippine Rebels in 1951.  He was 23 years old.

Ecarma III's father, Philippine Air Force Brig. Gen. Rodolfo A. Ecarma, now retired, (PMA '54) was Deputy Commander of Clark Air Force Base, an American Air Base in Luzon region prior to his retirement.

Another uncle, the younger brother of Rodolfo, was Philippine Army General Renato A. Ecarma, now retired, (PMA '55) was the regional commander in the Visayas region.

For the first time in the history of the more than 100-year-old Military Institution are three graduates from three generations of the same family, namely Natalio Sr., Rodolfo and Natalio III.  And from the same Family are three alumni who became Generals, namely Rodolfo, Renato and Natalio III.

Angelita fondly calls herself an "army brat."

00283268.gifHello Tina & All,

Starting December 1st, MULTIPLY http://multiply.multiply.com based in Jakarta, Indonesia ( formerly Florida, USA) will no longer support our current website format.  MULTIPLY decided to be all e-commerce targeting marketplaces in the Indonesia, Philippines, and Southeast Asia.   I remember the same situation when our MSN GROUPS USTPMTBBAA website was defunct in 2008 and changed to WINDOWS LIVE.  MSN  was very nice to choose MULTIPLY for our group to migrate.  I don't have any idea of the MULTIPLY plan about us right now.  I hope the management like MSN will find a place for us to migrate, pictures and all the good stuff.

@ Carme,

Heh-heh-heh!  Hindi mo lang alam because you're not a lechon eater.  All female and male animals, as well as humans, have different smell and taste.  Most especially when cooked.

I am what I eat.  Remember, we in the animal kingdom have a different genetic code.

I guess I feel lucky to get a reply from Fred.  You must be excited - your September cruise is just a month away.

I've been buying chicharon (lechon kawali) from a Mexican store recommended by Vicky Abad.  Did you know if the pig is male the lechon smells piggy? If female, the lechon smells good.  Napaka-sarap!

Sometimes, having a temper is one way to manage anger.

Volcanic Activity

An angry man stirs up strife, and a furious man abounds in transgression. —Proverbs 29:22

It erupts. It melts everything in its path. Its blast is as powerful as a nuclear explosion!

Well, maybe not—but a temper can feel as intense as a volcano when it is aimed directly at another person in a family. The moment may be quickly over, but it can leave emotional devastation and bitter feelings behind.

It’s sad that the people we love the most are often the target of our hurtful words. But even when we feel we’ve been provoked, we have a choice. Will we respond in anger or in kindness?

The Bible tells us to rid ourselves of bitterness and anger, and to “be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you” (Eph. 4:32).

If you are struggling with chronic anger that is hurting your relationships, surrender this vulnerable part of your emotions to Christ’s strength (Phil. 4:13). Ask God to forgive you for an uncontrolled temper and to show you how to moderate your emotions and to teach you how to honor others above yourself (Rom. 12:10). Seek out help from others to learn how to deal with your strong emotions in appropriate ways.

As we earnestly seek to love others and to please God, we can win the victory over a volcanic temper.

Spirit of God, please change my heart,
And give me a new desire;
I want to be a man of peace,
Not controlled by anger’s fire. —K. De Haan

Losing your temper is no way to get rid of it.
