Christmas is more than a day

at the end of the year,

More than a season of joy and good cheer,

Christmas is really

God's pattern of living

To be followed all year by unselfish giving...

For the holiday season awakens good cheer

And draws us closer to those we hold dear,

And we open our hearts and find it is GOOD

To live among men AS WE ALWAYS SHOULD...

But as soon as the tinsel

is stripped from the tree

The spirit of Christmas fades silently

Into the background of daily routine

And is lost in the whirl

of life's busy scene.

And all unawares we miss and forego

The greatest blessing that mankind can know...

For if we lived Christmas each day,

as we should,

And made it our aim to always do good,

We'd find the lost key to meaningful living

That comes not from GETTING,

but from unselfish GIVING.

JANINE TUGONON - MISS PHILIPPINES 2012 (BINIBINING PILIPINAS 2012)
CONGRATULATIONS! First Runner-Up Miss Universe

She hails from Orion, Bataan, 23 year old (born on October 19, 1989), and a stunning 5-foot-7. 

Endowed with beauty and brain, she graduated Cum Laude from University of Santo Tomas Faculty of Pharmacy.  She loves ballet and now famous for her "cobra" walk.  Miss Philippines 2011 Shamcey Supsup (2nd Miss Universe Runner-up) and Miss Philippines 2010 Venus Raj (3rd Runner-Up) had given her tips on how to win.

At the 61st Miss Universe Pageant on December 19, held at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, she was asked this important question, "As international ambassador, do you believe speaking English should be a pre-requisite for Miss Universe?"  Her answer: "I don't think speaking English is about speaking a specific language.  Being Miss Universe is about being able to influence and inspire people, regardless of language."

So, what did you think of her answer?

December 5, Las Vegas: Janine with World Boxing Champ Manny Pacquiao, Miss Mexico's Karina Gonzalez and Juan Manuel Marquez.

WHAT'S UP WITH THE BEAUTY QUEEN?
Janine disclosed that she'll be flying to the United States in September to initially study.  Before joining the Miss Universe Pageant, she passed her licensure in pharmacy and it was her dream to further her studies abroad.  She said, "This time there's an opportunity na talaga and I can study na talaga, I want to."  What say n'yo?  A lot of UST pharmacy grads had a very successful career here in the states.
