FOOTPRINT OF JESUS AT THE CHURCH OF ASCENSION NEAR THE SUMMIT OF MOUNT OF OLIVES IN JERUSALEM
In one corner of the octagonal building topped with a dome, now part of a mosque compound, is a stone.
Imprinted in the stone is the worn outline of a footprint - Jesus' right foot.
This is ascribed to be the place of Jesus' ascension
Jesus raised his eyes to heaven and said, "Father, the hour has come. Give glory to your son, so that your son may glorify you, just as you gave him authority over all people, so that your son may give eternal life to all you gave him. Now this is eternal life, that they should know you, the only true God, and the one whom you sent, Jesus Christ."
- John 17:1-3

The Ascension of the Lord
Jesus became part of this world. Because of his life, death and resurrection, the world was transformed to become a full-bodied life with the Lord and forever part of the reign of God. Hope is no longer a temporary blessing. The human life has blossomed into something far beyond greater.
Alleluia!
Hearts to heaven and voices raise;
Sing to God a hymn of gladness,
Sing to God a hymn of praise.
He who on the cross as Savior
For the world's salvation bled,
Jesus Christ, the King of Glory,
Now is risen from the dead.
Now the iron bars are broken,
Christ from death to life is born,
Glorious life, and life immortal,
On this resurrection morn;
Christ has truimphed and we conquer
By his mighty enterprise,
We with him to life eternal
By his resurrection rise.
Glory be to God on high;
Alleluia to the savior,
Who has won the victory;
Alleluia to the Spirit,
Font of love and sanctity;
Alelluia! Alleluia!
To the Triune Majesty.
